Global Creatures, masterminds behind the fantastic Walking With Dinosaurs, are at work again, this time bringing King Kong to life on stage at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. Having spent five years in developmental stages, the stage production will premiere on June 15 for an exclusive Australian season.
King Kong, as interpreted in this musical format, is a world-first, created by an award-winning team and featuring some of the world's best names in contemporary music, as they contribute new and existing songs to the landscape of the show. Artists include The Avalanches, Justice, Guy Garvey of Elbow fame and Robert Del Naja from Massive Attack. Modular's Stephen Pavlovic is also slated to be a key collaborator for the project, making the marriage of the legendary story and modern music all the more exciting to see brought to life.
